Faith

Hello once again, dear reader. Today is a historical day in the US, for it is the anniversary of Paul Revere's ride. This anniversary is the inspiration for our #NaPoWriMo prompt. We are to write a poem about an urgent journey with an important message. As I am wont to do, I loosely translate the prompt into something that works better for me. My poem today is about a journey, and I believe my poem itself contains the important message. I hope that my efforts today at writing fall acceptably within the prompt, and if it doesn't then I exercise my right to use creative license. Please enjoy.

Hoping to make this journey,
my biggest desire
is to have you
by my side.

For without your embrace,
your love,
your trust,
I cannot reach
my destination.

I can feel you
next to me,
your tears bathing
my shoulder
as my arms
surround you..

Our journey is one
that distance
cannot fathom,
for we are travelling
on the road
of faith.

Hills and valleys
stretch out
before us,
our hands are gripped
together,
helping each other
when the other
falls.

All along the path
we spread our message
of peace,
of hope,
of love.
Of Jesus.

Our voyage is earthly,
yet our destination
is eternal.
