I Know

Good afternoon, dear reader. Today for #NaPoWriMo, we were challenged to write about something 'we know'. It can be something factual or something we believe. This is a wide open prompt, and it really is the kind I like. And so, I think you will agree that this poem is totally me. Once again, this one is for my best friend, my confidante, my lover, my strength...my wife. I love you always, Dianne. I know this.

I know my heart beats

in time with yours,

everyday together

is magical.

I sense inadequacies,

for I do not know

how to love you,

other than giving

my entire being

to you.

I know you love me,

your passion for us

takes me beyond

what I deserve.

When doubts arise,

we work together

to put salve

on unintentional wounds.

I know we are

forever.

I know we are meant

to be.

I know

I love you.
