Dark to Light

Hello again, dear reader. Today our prompt for #NaPoWriMo was to do 'erasure poetry', otherwise known as 'found poetry' or 'blackout poetry'. In this form of poetry, we are to take the page from a book and 'find' your poem in the words that are already written. I had a tough time finding something that I would be pleased with, but finally I came up with the following. The book is Dracula by Bram Stoker. It is definitely not my favorite piece, but I am quite proud of how it turned out. I hope you enjoy it as well.

I heard
the voice whisper
answered by
the howling of wolves.

How can I escape
this thing of night,
gloom and fear?

The sun grew high,
my fear fell
as a vaporous garment
dissolved in the warmth.
